An electrical outlet can be noticed when it's ugly. When she's beautiful, she disappears in the decor — and that's exactly what the goal is.
Electrical outlet is one of the most neglected elements in a renovation or interior development. We carefully choose the paint, the parquet, the light fixtures, the door handles — and we screw the socket with the first white plastic model. The result: a disgracious detail that clings to the eye precisely because it astonishes. At Amberkiln, our selection of electric sockets in brushed steel, wood and various metallic finishes finally allows us to treat this element with the care it deserves, without devoting an excessive budget to it.
Simple, double, USB, RJ45, TV socket: the right format depending on the use
The Simple electrical outlet (Europe) is the basic format, the one that is installed wherever only one connection is sufficient. Our simple models are available in a dozen finishes: matt black, brushed light grey, brushed dark grey, brushed gold, aged bronze, matt white, matt white/gold white — with straight or rounded edges depending on the range. The choice of finish is the only really decorative variable here.
The double socket consists of two cells on the same plate. It is particularly useful in living areas where connections are increasing — behind a sofa, on a desk, in an equipped kitchen. Some of our double models also incorporate USB ports type A and type C, to charge tablets, smartphones and accessories directly without multiprise. A real gain in practicality in a room or office, which avoids unnecessary cables.
The taken RJ45 (Ethernet network) and TV sockets are part of the same range, which allows to create a complete and visually consistent electrical installation in a living room or office. Our RJ45 models in brushed light grey, matt black or aged bronze integrate naturally alongside standard electrical outlets without visual rupture. The TV + RJ45 socket combined on the same plate is particularly convenient behind a TV cabinet.
The hide-and-take It is also worth mentioning: simple cover plates for unused or pending sockets, they keep the aesthetics of the installation without leaving an apparent hole in the wall. Available in the same finishes as the sockets, they are discreetly integrated in the whole.
Brushed steel, wood, metal: what material for your interior?
Our electrical sockets are divided into two large families of materials, each corresponding to a separate decorative universe.
Brushed steel is the reference for contemporary, Scandinavian or industrial interiors. Resistant, easy to maintain, it offers a slightly textured surface that does not show the prints and remains elegant over time. Our finishes in light grey, dark grey, matt black and brushed gold cover almost all of the contemporary decorative palettes. The range rounded edges is softer and more modern; the range with right angles is more geometric and assertive.
The range of wood and gold screws addresses warm, natural or slightly retro interiors. The wooden plate — usually a light wood with visible veins — contrasts with the gold screws for an artisanal and precious effect. This range includes single, double, USB, TV, RJ45 and sockets in the same spirit, for a complete and consistent installation. It works particularly well in Scandinavian, wabi-sabi or predominantly wood and natural materials interiors.
The Aged bronze finish It occupies an intermediate position: warmer than grey steel, less ostensibly decorative than gold, it is suitable for Haussmannian apartments, houses of character or vintage interiors that seek consistency between patina and functionality.
Electric socket and switch: think of the installation as a set
It's the advice you rarely give but that changes everything: choose your sockets and switches from the same range at the same time. A brushed gold switch combined with a matte black socket in the same room produces a draft effect that even the most beautiful light fixture will not be able to compensate. The coherence of the visible electrical installation is a detail that is noticed — in good or bad.
Our catalogue offers electrical sockets and switches in strictly identical finishes, making this consistency very easy to achieve. For a living room, bedroom or kitchen, plan all of your electrical points before ordering, check that all rooms belong to the same range, and the result will be immediately more neat than a randomly assembled supply facility.
