Round Chandeliers

A round chandelier is the perfect punctuation of a space, the touch that structures the light and harmony of a room.

The round chandelier imposes itself as a central choice for who seeks to combine homogeneous diffusion and balanced aesthetics. Its circular shape, available from a small diameter of 30 cm to XXL models of more than 100 cm, allows to dress an entrance as well as a large stay. In central pendant light, it offers optimum light distribution, limiting shade zones, and adapts to all volumes with adjustable heights, often between 30 and 150 cm. What materials for a round chandelier?

Glass chandelier : Glass, transparent or opalin, diffuses light without dazzling. A round glass chandelier of 50 cm in diameter, equipped with LEDs from 18 to 36 W (1800 to 3600 lumens), is perfectly suited to a dining room of 15 to 25 m2. What size and power for each room?

The choice of diameter and power of a round chandelier depends directly on the surface to be illuminated and the height under ceiling.

Fair : For a living room of 20 to 30 m2, prefer a round chandelier 70 to 100 cm in diameter, suspended 210 to 220 cm from the ground. A total power of 3000 to 4000 lumens (30 to 40 W LED) ensures comfortable general lighting. The dimmer models allow to adjust the atmosphere according to the times of the day. Dining room : Above a table, the round chandelier shall be between 50 and 80 per cent of the width of the table, i.e. 60 to 90 cm for a standard table. Install it 75-85 cm above the top to avoid glare. A colour temperature of 2700 to 3000 K creates a warm atmosphere, ideal for meals.

Chamber : In a room of 12 to 18 m2, a round chandelier of 40 to 60 cm in diameter is sufficient. Prefer a soft light (2000 to 2500 lumens, 20 to 25 W LED) and a pendant light at 210 cm from the ground to avoid obstructing traffic. How to give a round chandelier with the rest of the decoration?

The round chandelier integrates into a contemporary as well as a classical universe, provided you play on materials and finishes.

Design chandelier : The minimalist models, made of black metal or brass, match with clean interiors, sofas with straight lines and glass coffee tables. For maintenance, dust the surfaces regularly with an antistatic feather. The glass or crystal models can be cleaned with a soft cloth slightly damp, while the metal is content with dry wiping. Avoid abrasive products that could tarnish the finishes.
