Three orders, one plate. The3-way triple switch focus the control of three separate lighting circuits on a single wall support. It is a particularly popular solution in large living rooms — open kitchen-lounge, rooms with several separate lighting areas — but also in long corridors or work spaces where several light points must be able to be controlled independently from the same point.
In practical terms, it is necessary to have a box of recess adapted to the width of a triple plate. If you are replacing existing switches, check that the current box can accommodate a triple — otherwise, an intervention in the wall will be required. In a new installation, the triple is embedded like any other format.
In what cases do you use a triple switch?
The most common situations: an open living room with main lighting, recessed spotlights and LED headband to be controlled separately; an equipped kitchen with hood, worktop and general lighting; a dining room combined with a living room where each space has its own lighting. The triple avoids having three simple switches side by side — which occupies three wall locations and gives a more visually cluttered rendering.
